About Us

The Ballet Folklórico Oro Lenca was founded on December 18, 2008 by a group of young people in La Esperanza thereby committing themselves to join the struggle to rescue the cultural values of their country through dance and folk music.

For the rescue of the culture, traditions and idiosyncrasies of the Lenca Culture, realized through the presentation of music, dance and theater.

Objectives of Our Organization

The objectives of our organization are to investigate, collect, transcribe and assemble the scene and choreographic facts and events from that Hondurans accumulated as part of i history, beliefs and idiosyncrasies, as well as to rescue the customs and traditions that twists of fate and acculturation have missed.

  • Involve youth in the task of rescuing cultural values through dance, theater and folk music.
  • Putting up the name of Honduras, Intibucá and our folklore nationally and internationally.
  • Share the living culture of the indigenous Lenca of Honduras that we represent.
